Hello, I am Hayley Thompson, founder of Willow Learning & Wellbeing.
With over 16 years of experience in primary education, including teaching, senior leadership and SENDCO roles, I am passionate about helping children feel confident, capable and understood.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and I am currently completing an MSc in Psychology. My background in education, child development and psychology enables me to take a holistic, evidence-informed approach to supporting children's learning, confidence and emotional development.
I have worked extensively with children in EYFS, KS1 and SEND, developing a deep understanding of the factors that influence children's development, wellbeing and success in school. I believe children thrive when their educational, social and emotional needs are recognised and supported.
At Willow Learning & Wellbeing, I combine educational expertise with research-informed approaches to provide personalised support tailored to each child's unique strengths and needs. Whether working directly with a child or supporting parents, my goal is to help children build confidence, develop resilience and create strong foundations for lifelong learning and wellbeing. I believe every child deserves to feel understood, valued and empowered to thrive.
Please reach us at hello@willowlearningandwellbeing.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Willow Learning & Wellbeing takes a whole-child approach. Alongside academic progress, I consider children's confidence, emotional development, wellbeing and individual learning needs to provide personalised, psychology-informed support.
I specialise in supporting children in EYFS, KS1 and children with special educational needs.
I offer curriculum-aligned assessments, personalised learning support, SEND specialist support, confidence and wellbeing sessions, parent consultations, and personalised learning plans.
Support may be helpful if your child is experiencing difficulties with learning, confidence, emotional wellbeing, school readiness, attention, or SEND-related needs. I offer an initial consultation to discuss your child's individual circumstances.
Assessments are tailored to your child's age and needs and may include curriculum-based activities, observations, and discussions. Following the assessment, you will receive feedback, recommendations and next steps.
As an experienced SENDCO, I have supported children and families through the EHCAR and EHCP processes and worked with a wide range of additional needs. I believe every child is unique, and all support is tailored to their individual strengths, needs and aspirations.
Sessions are available both online and in person.
Face-to-face sessions take place in my dedicated garden learning cabin; a quiet, welcoming and inclusive space where children can feel safe, supported and confident to learn and grow.
Session length is tailored to each child's age, needs and individual goals.
Sessions may include:
• 10-minute Mini Meets – ideal for younger children, initial introductions or focused check-ins
• 30-minute Sessions – suitable for targeted support, confidence-building and younger learners
• 60-minute Sessions – ideal for in-depth learning support, assessments and personalised intervention programmes
Recommendations will be discussed during the initial consultation to ensure the most appropriate level of support for your child.
I believe parents play an important role in their child's development. Regular feedback, progress reviews and practical recommendations are provided where appropriate.
Wellbeing sessions are psychology-informed and focus on confidence, resilience, emotional development and coping skills. They are not a substitute for counselling, psychotherapy or mental health treatment.
I am a qualified teacher with over 16 years of experience in education, including senior leadership and SENDCO roles. I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and I am currently completing an MSc in Psychology.
